Gratitude Spiral: Day 303

Today, I’m grateful for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

St. Jude’s is an amazing place for children suffering from cancer and for their families. Many years ago, I signed on to be a “Partner in Hope” to support the wonderful work they do. We’re all blessed that places like this exist in our world. If you have the means to help any of them, don’t wait, just reach out. You’ll be part of something much greater than yourself. And you’ll be blessing others. What could be better than that?

Gratitude Spiral: Day 229

Today, I’m grateful for air conditioning.

The temperatures in New England are pushing ninety degrees. I know the Southwestern US gets hotter. But here in New England, the humidity adds to the discomfort. We never had air conditioning in our house when I was a child. The first house my husband and I bought when we got married didn’t have a.c. either. But I’m thankful that the house we’ve lived in for the past thirty years does. It’s a blessing I try not to take for granted.

Gratitude Spiral: Day 200

Today, I’m grateful for this milestone: 200 days of practicing gratitude.

Some days I wonder if it really matters whether I publish these posts or not, since it feels like sending words into a silent void. But the purpose of this practice is to create a new habit and attitude for myself. And that is being accomplished. If it’s had the added benefit of helping or challenging anyone else, then I’ll count it as an invisible blessing. (But please feel free to answer the question posed at the end each day šŸ˜‰ )

Gratitude Spiral: Day 188

Today, I’m grateful for the rocking chair on my back deck.

I’m not one to sit still for long, but some days I’ll allow myself the luxury of sitting, putting my feet up, and enjoying the moment. Having a chair out there, calling to me, is a blessing I’ll try not to overlook. šŸ™‚

Gratitude Spiral: Day 88

Today, I’m grateful for musically gifted people.

At least once a week, I sing with some incredibly talented women in an a cappella chorus. Then, at church, I sing with many dedicated choir members. And also at church, I get to play guitar with several multi-talented singers and musicians. What a blessing to experience their gifts!

Gratitude Spiral: Day 30

Today, I’m grateful for my health.

In the past week, one friend suffered a stroke, another was diagnosed with stage three liver cancer, and my sister broke her ankle when the sidewalk crumbled beneath her feet. Our health and well-being are not guaranteed. Rather, every day is a blessing.

Gratitude Spiral: Day 5

Today I’m grateful for the air I breathe. I take one long deep breath when I wake up in the morning and am thankful that the air is clear and that my lungs are full. Air. Definitely a blessing I take for granted.

You?
