Today, I’m grateful for a flu shot during this pandemic.
I bit the bullet and made an appointment for my flu shot today. I hate shots. (Does anyone love them?) But I know it’s the responsible thing to do right now, especially with an even worse virus going around. So, I’m thankful for being able to put aside the discomfort for the sake of my health and the health of those around me.
Today I’m grateful for getting a flu shot this year.
I know we should get one each year, as flu season approaches, but I never do. I always feel healthy enough and figure I could fight it off, if I ever came down with the flu. (I’ve never had to test that theory.) But this year, I thought about my parents and about all the people I come in contact with. Even if I’m healthy, I should get my flu shot for their sakes. I wouldn’t want to be the one to spread it around.
People around me are dropping in waves this week. So much sickness and flu. Hopefully, I’ll avoid it or at least be protected from the worst of it.
