Gratitude Spiral: Day 178

Today, I’m grateful for new wiper blades on my van.

I called my mechanic right before they were closing for the long holiday weekend yesterday. The wiper blades on my van were literally falling apart. Pollen in New England is coating everything and I couldn’t even clean my windshield! The mechanic was just shutting everything down, but willingly took my payment over the phone, asked me to drive right over, and popped the new wipers on while I sat in my car. Now, that’s service!

What are you grateful for today!

Gratitude Spiral: Day 91

Today, I’m grateful for this Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the season of Lent.

I heard once that Lent means “lengthening,” as in “the lengthening of days.” The sun comes up a little earlier and goes down a little later each day. Spring is coming. And in this season of reflection, just as minutes and hours of light are added to the days, let’s all add some minutes and moments of kindness, compassion, and gratitude, as well. 🙂

So, if you’re reading this, maybe you could leave a comment about what you’re grateful for today…

Gratitude Spiral: Day 34

Today, I’m grateful for Holy Moments.

Matthew Kelly, in his book The Biggest Lie in the History of Christianity, coins this term to mean a moment when you collaborate with God to be the best version of yourself and do what God wants in that moment. It doesn’t have to be a huge undertaking. It can be a simple act of kindness. And it’s entirely possible to choose to participate in Holy Moments over and over again. 🙂
