Today, I’m grateful for blooms in February.

This amaryllis, a gift from my mother, is brightening up my living room at the end of an unusually snow-deficient New England February. Its stunning red flowers make me smile. πŸ™‚

Gratitude Spiral: Day 85

Today, I’m grateful for windows.

Cold winter days, despite the occasional sunshine, keep me indoors where it’s warm. But that only increases my craving for the outdoors. My favorite window is the one above the kitchen sink. Gratitude Spiral: Day 60

Today, I’m grateful for the sound of gulls in January.

I don’t live near the ocean, but I’m staying at a hotel in Newport, RI this weekend. My hotel room was so stuffy, I had to open the window to get relief. The cries of the gulls hovering over the pier echoed off nearby brick buildings. A hauntingly beautiful sound in the middle of winter. πŸ™‚
